The Loan Officer Assistant position will provide a wide range of support and duties related to the day-to-day processing of loans. Work with Loan Offices, Processors, Underwriters, and customers to complete all required documentation on mortgage loan applications following specified regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assemble loan documentation as required necessary for verifications and underwriting such as loan files, loan packages, credit reports, and additional mortgage application paperwork
  • Act as the primary contact between our clients and our company and schedule and conduct meetings to discuss any follow-up issues or items that need to be addressed
  • Provide administrative support such as screening and making calls, booking appointments, etc.
  • Handle all customer and in-house inquiries about transactions so the process is smooth, and customers receive excellent service
  • Review all loan package documentation for discrepancies, omissions, and income calculation then report any discrepancies to the loan originator
  • Ability to multitask and capable of making decisions in compliance with federal, state, and related company regulations
  • Communicate with Loan Processor and Closing Department and track status of loan
  • Assist in other task/duties as needed

Experience and Education

  • Working knowledge of mortgage loan documents, loan origination program and underwriting guidelines
  • Proficient with standard software such as Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Maintain proper and professional etiquette and appearance.
  • Strong attention to details, high degree of accuracy and excellent organizational skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Well organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Self-discipline, an aptitude for making good decisions and works efficiently under deadlines
  • Must be able to handle the pressure of a fast-paced office high work volume
  • The ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of escrow, from opening to closing, is required
  • Must have a valid drivers license and successfully pass a background check
  • LOA residential mortgage lending experience preferred
