About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Loan Processor to join our team at Guild Mortgage Company. As a Loan Processor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth processing of mortgage loans from application to closing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loan Processing: Process and pre-underwrite conventional, FHA, VA, and Bond mortgage loans to ensure compliance with company, secondary market investor, and government agency standards.
  • Quality Control: Achieve production and quality metrics by monitoring the overall loan processing cycle time to ensure timely loan closings.
  • Communication: Communicate and coordinate the resolution of issues that delay loan closing timelines, serving as a liaison between loan officers, borrowers, underwriters, and funding teams.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review loan files to ensure completeness of submission and supporting documents, as well as compliance with underwriting and investor guidelines.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze loan-to-value ratio, debt-to-income ratio, credit report, application, income, and assets to identify potential fraud or misrepresentation, and communicate findings to consumers and loan officers.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with federal, state, and regulatory requirements/guidelines related to consumer mortgage lending for conventional, FHA, VA, and Bond mortgage loans.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide guidance to less experienced team members, and work collaboratively with loan officers, production, underwriting, and closing teams to ensure seamless loan processing.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college courses/technical training related to business, finance/accounting, legal, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Total recent work experience includes five or more years' experience as a Loan Processor, preferably processing conventional and FHA loans, with at least two years of experience processing VA and Bond mortgage loans.
  • Skills: Expert knowledge of overall mortgage lending internal processes and control, as well as federal, state, and regulatory requirements/guidelines related to consumer mortgage lending for conventional, FHA, VA, and Bond mortgage loans.
  • Soft Skills: Sound judgment, ability to think critically, excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and strong detail orientation and organization.
