Responsibilities

  • Read and understand Construction plans for both Aerial and Underground installation of Fiber Optic cables.
  • Read and understand construction specifications.
  • Monitor aerial and Underground construction crews in the field to ensure compliance with construction drawings and Specifications.
  • Monitor aerial and underground construction crews in the field to ensure compliance with Permit requirements.
  • Work with Work with City, County, DOT, and Railroad personnel and inspectors to ensure compliance with permits.
  • Understand construction techniques to resolve and propose solutions to construction challenges.
  • Prepare written documents to resolve and document solutions to construction issues.
  • Provide redline markups of construction drawings showing any deviation from the construction drawings or specifications.
  • Operate and maintain GPS equipment in the design of networks.
  • Oversee field construction activities, including quality assurance.
  • Ensure on-site job site safety.

Required Skills

  • A College degree is desired but not required.
  • Two or more years of telecommunications outside plant construction experience or an acceptable equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with GPS mapping is desired but not required.
  • Familiarity with NESC and NEC standards.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety procedures relates to outside plant construction.
