Position Overview: Senior Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Generalist provides hands-on, professional HR support to team members and leaders. This position focuses on delivering impactful HR generalist support, with the opportunity to provide HR related training and leadership development. All HR services provided in a manner that fosters a respectful and inclusive work environment aligned with LSS-SW values and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily HR Support and Guidance: Independently or in partnership with the HR team, offer expert guidance on HR policies and procedures to employees and management. Handle complex and sensitive matters related to employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, performance management, compensation, recognition and employee engagement, benefits, leaves and safety & compliance.
  • Develop and Facilitate Training Programs: Collaborate with the HR Director to design and conduct HR related trainings and Leadership Development programs, addressing organizational needs and strategic initiatives. Support New Employee Orientation (NEO) and Onboarding processes.
  • Policy & Program Management and Communication: As part of HR Team, participate in maintaining and updating HR related policies and programs including related communication and change management. Ensure consistent messaging and communication with all aspects of responsibilities with a customer centric lens. Contribute to special projects such as audits, reporting, process improvements and program implementation.
  • Benefits and Compliance Support: provide support with health and welfare benefit programs, as well as worker's compensation, UI claims, LOA's, and COBRA. Support compliance and recruiting during peak periods.
  • HR Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices, trends, and regulatory changes at the state and federal levels. Ensure LSS-SW's policies and practices comply with employment laws, such as Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of progressively increasing professional HR experience.
  • Strong understanding of Arizona and Federal employment laws and regulations.
  • HRCI or SHRM Certification preferred.
  • Experience in developing and delivering HR training programs, including virtual and in-person facilitation for adult learners.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, LMS, and Talent Acquisition systems.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish (desired).
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and ability to clear background checks.
  • Good time management ability and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient with computers and related business electronics, systems and software, including Microsoft Office products, HRIS, LMS and TA systems.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, operate office equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
