We're currently growing our team of Artisans in Canada with a Mechanical Project Manager. This role is responsible for managing key client projects within our Mechanical Services business. The Mechanical Project Manager develops detailed project plans, manages equipment availability and allocation, and ensures all RTI projects are delivered on time within budget and scope ,and adhere to RTI's excellence standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

•Manage the relationship with the client and other parties involved with the mechanical installation of RTI's equipment.

•Consult with clients to develop detailed project plans, inclusive of drawing layouts and detailed parts lists.

•Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

•Manage inventory availability, allocation, and field readiness.

•Oversee and provide on-site support for delivery, installation, repair/maintenance, and demobilization of RTI mechanical rental equipment, ensuring project excellence.

•Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.

•Create and share lessons learned to improve project performance.

•Train third party resources on installation of RTI's mechanical rental equipment.

•Performs/leads teams to work safely in all plant settings. Has the ability to identify potential safety incidents and mitigate as necessary to prevent incidents from occurring.

•Perform other duties as required to support RTI's business needs.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

•Experience as a Project Manager with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science field or Process Technology degree, or in lieu of a college degree, a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 5 years of equivalent documented work experience or journeyman plumbing, welding, electrician certification.

•Three (3) years of progressively responsible related field experience and task management.

•Experience leading teams or managing large projects.

•Ability to use hand tools to create and maintain operating equipment.

•Primary understanding of fluid dynamics as related to RTI pumping equipment

•Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

•Process knowledge of refinery or petrochemical units, preference is given to those with upgrader or refinery craft supervisory experience.

•BS in Engineering/Science field, preferably Mechanical Engineering.

•Material coordinating experience considered a plus.

•Valid passport or willingness to obtain one.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

The Company requires passing a pre-employment physical in which an objective medical professional will determine whether you can safely meet the physical demands of the position.

•Duration of Workhours During Project Executions:

•Typically, 12 continuous hours that may extend up to 14 - 16 hours if an emergent need exists.

•Day shift and/or night shift.

•Working Conditions During Project Executions:

•Uneven or unstable ground, and wet, muddy, or slippery surfaces and footings.

•Outside locations in extreme temperatures and weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and other forms of inclement weather.

•Physical Demands:

•Work at heights up to 150 ft/ 45m accessed via stairs, climbing ladders. This requires an ability to climb ladders and stairs without issue.

•Lifting and carrying up to 40lbs., without assistance.

•Pushing / pulling up to 100 lbs., without assistance.

•Standing and walking for up to 12 to 14 [RT4] hours daily with minimal rest breaks. May exceed 10,000 to 15,000 steps per day.

•Bending and stooping repeatedly and performing task including twisting or turning valves and using wrenches and hand tools.

Travel Requirements

Depending on region, travel requirements can vary. Ability to travel 50-100 overnights per year to multiple North American markets to support a growing list of clients. Out of town assignments can range from 3-15 days in length.
