Are you looking to be part of a dynamic team that conserves and manages lands? The Department of Fish and Wildlifes Inland Deserts Region is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Seasonal Aid located at the Camp Cady Wildlife Area in Newberry Springs.
The seasonal aid will work outdoors maintaining natural resources by managing vegetation, and water levels on ponds that house the endangered Mohave tui chub. This position will help restore and enhance riparian habitat by removing non-native species, assisting with surveys and maintaining the historic Camp Cady site and its associated facilities. You will also provide upland game hunting opportunities to the public, manage wildlife watering systems, farm crops for upland game (i.e. mowing, seeding, discing, etc); interact with the public, assist in organizing public hunts, answer questions from visiting public; and perform regular inspections of the property using 4x4 vehicles.
The Fish and Wildlife Seasonal Aid classification is a non-testing classification.

Working Conditions

Special Requirements Ability to hike over uneven terrain and carry 20lb pack for 5 miles. Ability to float for 5 minutes in water.
Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people including visitors, other staff members, law enforcement, etc. Willingness to work independently for long periods of time and be able to give instructions to a small volunteer crew periodically.
Willingness to work and live on site in state owned housing in a remote location.
