What You'll do

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBank Chicago) is a leading financial services institution committed to providing innovative and tailored solutions to meet the diverse needs of our members. Our Mortgage Partnership Finance (MPF) Program is designed to support participating financial institutions in offering competitive mortgage products while ensuring the MPF Program is operating effectively, managing risks appropriately and providing a reasonable return to key stakeholders.

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for the role of Group Head of the MPF Program. This executive role will shape the strategic direction, management, and growth of the MPF business. As an Executive Team member of the FHLBank of Chicago, this role is pivotal in setting the strategic direction of the Bank, driving solutions to support the FHLBank of Chicago and the MPF Program, fostering strategic partnerships across the FHLBank System with other external stakeholders, and ensuring the MPF Program's alignment with the Bank's overall business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage finance and mortgage operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in strategic planning and execution. A strong understanding of Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBs) is essential.

How you'll make an impact: Setting the strategic direction of the Bank, driving solutions to support the FHLBank of Chicago and the MPF Program. Being a visionary leader and shaping the strategic direction, management, and growth of the MPF business.

What you can expect: Define and guide the strategic direction for the MPF Group in collaboration with colleagues at FHLBank Chicago and at other participating FHLBanks; Establish Group and Program goals in alignment with the long term strategic objectives of the FHLBank Chicago; Participate as a member of the Executive Team of the FHLBank Chicago; Responsible for oversight of MPF Product line financials and working with internal colleagues and MPF Banks to optimize financial results; Drive business growth by overseeing and managing mortgage operations activities that are delivered in accordance to Bank's business plan; Actively participate in of various committees and groups, including FHLB System MPF Governing Council, Board of Director committees (i.e., Operations & Technology, Audit, Risk Management), and internal committees Represent the MPF Program with vendors, other GSEs, government agencies, and other market participants with whom the MPF Program interacts; Manage personnel by making decisions regarding employment, performance appraisal, training and development, and salary promotion and transfer recommendations; and Provide management reports on MPF Business to Bank President Council (as requested), Board of Directors, FHFA, MPF Governing Council, and Executive Team.

What you'll bring: 15-20+ years demonstrated expertise in Mortgage Finance, Mortgage Operations, Mortgage Administration, and/or Mortgage Technology in a large commercial Bank; 10-15+ years of senior level management experience; Master's degree or equivalent experience Knowledge of GSEs (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHLBs) Exemplary communication (verbal, written) skills; Strong people and business management and leadership skills; Skilled presenter and negotiator; Exceptional analytic and problem solving skills; Diplomatic collaborator; Customer service orientation; and Project management skills.
