Job Title: Procurement SpecialistJob Description
Analyzes supply and demand data to create new purchase orders and expedites requests to accommodate production schedules. Creates and manages new supplier relationships, negotiating bid packages, monitoring pricing fluctuations, and seeking out cost-saving measures. Sources and purchases components for engineering, production, and sales. Performs procurement activities and administers purchase orders based on planned order (MRP) and scheduled date for builds. Communicates with suppliers on purchase order confirmations, updating due dates in the system for Production scheduling purposes. Initiates discussions between suppliers and respective departments (Production, Receiving, Engineering, Accounting) involving procurement-related issues. Acts as a liaison between suppliers and employees. Maintains vendor database.
Hard Skills
+ Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
+ Knowledge of sourcing and warehouse management practices; RFQs, RMAs, etc.
+ Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLookup
+ Proficiency in computer skills
+ Supply management
Soft Skills
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
+ Ability to build vendor relationships
+ Ability to analyze large data sets and think critically through solutions

Job Type
This is a permanent position.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Kansas City, Kansas.
Work Environment
Will be in office every day from 8-5 in an office setting. Noise is not too bad being right next to the manufacturing building. Provided a benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and a 401K. Personal Time Off (PTO) is also included.
