7/31/2024 Job Description Minnesota State College Southeast seeks a visionary, strategic, innovative, and collaborative leader as its Vice President of Student Success (VPSS). The VPSS will partner with the President in advancing the college’s mission by providing leadership and strategic direction for the Academic and Student Affairs division. The successful candidate will have a passion for equity and inclusion; be a data-informed decision-maker; and will be an exceptional listener who works to understand the pulse of the college and the communities we serve. The VPSS position will be located on either our Red Wing or Winona campus, with regular travel between campuses expected. Hybrid work environment and relocation assistance are available. Responsibilities and Results

Provide Strategic Vision and Program Development Provide leadership in developing and ensuring execution of a vision that advances student access, excellence in teaching and learning, and student success across all academic programs. Facilitate engagement of faculty and academic leaders in advancing the college’s strategic vision. Stay current on the science of teaching, learning, and assessment, and optimal student success practices. Demonstrate commitment to evidence-based practice by using data to make decisions. Strategically align improvements in the learning environment and student advising to broader institutional goals. Champion the implementation of guided learning pathways and major mapping. Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout all levels of the organization. Support the development of new technological innovations to enhance learning and teaching. Partner with Stakeholders

Provide leadership in the development of partnerships with area high schools. Advance student support services through collaboration with outside entities. Provide Ongoing Evaluation

Lead college efforts to analyze and improve student persistence and graduation rates. Design and implement processes for regularly evaluating program effectiveness. Develop and Manage Budgets

Provide leadership and fiscal oversight for the development and management of budgets. Establish processes for budget needs identification. Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in a related field. Five years of relevant administrative experience in higher education. Experience in higher education accreditation and curriculum development. Three years’ experience fostering teamwork among faculty and staff. Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion. Experience in personnel and budget management.
