) SUMMARY : Under general direction, handle the administration of all Health, Welfare, Retirement, Unemployment, and Absence Management programs including policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and municipal laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Administer the day-to-day activities of the Firm’s benefit and absence programs by responding to tickets, online change requests, emails and phone calls from internal partners and employees. Guide internal partners and employees in understanding and utilizing online tools and resources. Collect leave documentation and determine initial assessment as to leave programs available. Partner with Sr. Specialist or manager in reviewing and interpreting medical documentation and complex leave situations. Review and respond to unemployment claims by investigating circumstances and preparing appropriate documentation, ensuring compliance with the unemployment insurance integrity requirements. Prepares for all appeal hearings and attends hearings when necessary. Provide guidance to leaders as needed. Administers employment verifications through a third-party administrator and internally for those not able to utilize a third party for the information requested. Conduct reporting reviews and audits as assigned. Assist in the execution of open enrollment, benefit trainings and communication development.
