To establish, maintain, monitor, and advise TIC management of issues relative to controlling costs associated with Toshiba`s safety health program, rRegistration and worker`s compensation loss control efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies which place the injury rate below the industry average.
  • Ensure the Written Safety Programs are developed and enhanced on a continuous basis.
  • Ensure Safety Training is administered in accordance with compliance requirements.
  • Monitor Workers Compensation cases to avoid excess spending.
  • Ensure compliance with Industrial Hygene Monitoring requirements.
  • Implement techniques which will minimize Lost Time Days.
  • Ensure all reporting requirements are completed within established time constraints.
  • Acquire SH Commitment from the Leadership group.
  • Keep management informed/updated on SH trends, activities, and performances.
  • Ensure records comply with agency requirements.
  • Submit reports on time.
  • Manage departmental expenses to not exceed the authorized budget.
  • Keep current on SHE subjects through attendance at various educational events.
Travel:
  • Limited as needed


Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
•Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred
•Minimum 3 years of experience as a Safety Manager or similar role in a manufacturing setting
•In-depth knowledge of electrical safety standards, especially NFPA 70E1
•Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment, and hazards
•Proficient in MS Office and safety management software
•Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
•Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
