You will play a crucial role in ensuring these systems' efficient, reliable, and sustainable operation, contributing to clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics. Key Responsibilities:Lead mechanical design and development of critical metals production systems and scale up existing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize and improve process technology. Create and update detailed mechanical designs, equipment layouts, and technical drawings using 3D modeling software and CAD tools. Conduct technical reviews, identify and resolve issues, and ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of designs and systems. Manage project timelines and budgets, communicate progress and results, and stay updated with industry trends and technologies. Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to source materials, components, and equipment. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering. Demonstrated expertise in designing complex mechanical systems, preferably within high-temperature electrochemical processes. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB), experience with Onshape preferred. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes specific to metal refining. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on refining technology challenges. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks based on refining technology needs. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and safety in rare earth metal refining. Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and additive manufacturing tailored for rare earth metal refining applications is a plus.
