Scope of Job:

Primarily responsible for the ongoing management of clients, retention of new and renewal clients while maintaining a partnership with Insurance Agents to support business development activities.

Primary Duties:

Acts as first point of contact for routine customer requests and inquiries to provide a positive customer experience.

Assists agents in managing client accounts and gaining knowledge about assigned books of business.

Learn and maintain understanding of the Insurance Department Management system (Epic) to accurately input policy information.

Aid clients in making appropriate coverage changes, ensuring proper documentation is entered into Epic.

Assist in maintaining prospect/client files and processing basic insurance documents accurately and timely.

Handles cancellations with care, saving all accounts possible with adherence to E&O guidelines.

Works in Epic and carrier sites to assist in writing new business through quoting appropriate carriers.

Assist in preparing proposals, applications, and obtaining necessary signatures.

Inform and educates clients about coverage, exclusions, and exposures, appropriately documenting all conversations in the Insurance Department Management system (Epic).

Support the insurance renewal process by providing renewal packets and assisting with policy accuracy checks.

Offer quotes for additional lines of business to existing clients.

Pursue professional and personal development to ensure competitive knowledge of the insurance industry whether through in-house or outside insurance industry courses and seminars.

Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to resolve policy and account- related questions.

Secondary Duties:

Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.

Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.

Attend, actively participate in organization, job specific training offered, and Quality Service programs.

Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.

Community involvement is strongly encouraged.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent.

Post-Secondary education preferred.

Must obtain Property and Casualty license within 90 days in position.

Acquire additional insurance school or training to maintain required continuing education requirements of license(s).

Experience:

1 years' experience in related field.

Knowledge and Special Skills:

High level of organization ability.

High degree of self-discipline and motivation with excellent time management skills.

Solution driven problem solving skills and proven analytical skills.

Team player with strong work ethic.

Ability to work dependently and/or independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.

Ability to organize and handle multiple responsibilities while delivering quality external and/or internal Customer Service.

Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with external and/or internal customers.

Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.

Knowledge of insurance terminology/concepts, and mastery of required paperwork.

Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learn computer programs, and comprehend the program output.

Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
