What You Will Do:
The Healthcare Account Specialist acts as an integral part of a client's business office team. Specialists are tasked with handling incoming and outgoing communications with patients and insurance providers to address account balances. All client policies and procedures are adhered to. Specialists will undertake any and all job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:


Extensive outbound communicationAccount AssessmentClient SupportAccount ModificationsMedical BillingProficient Verbal / Written Communication SkillsExperience required for insurance-focused roles:Appeals & DenialsMedicare/MedicaidCommercial & Federal insurance providersInsurance Follow-upUB-04 & CMS 1500Responsible for managing 40-70 Accounts DailyDuties and ResponsibilitiesFulfill all business-related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance providers.

Minimum call requirement for self-pay specialists is 75 calls a day.
Complete all assigned projects promptly.
Assist clients and patients with all requested tasks.
Inform management of any concerns or areas for improvement.
Client ResponsibilityInvestigate and respond to all patient inquiries received via telephone and mail.
Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.
Aim to resolve account balances to zero before accounts are forwarded to an external agency for collections.

What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.1 year of experience in an office or customer service environment.
Strong customer service skills / customer service experience required.

PC proficiency in a Windows environmentWhat Would Be Nice to Have:

Familiarity with desktop applications including Word and Excel is essential.1+ year of experience in a Healthcare environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $32,600.00-$48,800.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
