Job Description
The Property Accountant is responsible for managing the financial reporting of Vtrip’s properties and real estate ventures. This includes accounting, tax filings, cash reconciliation, and audits.
Essential Functions
Prepare monthly and year-end property statements/financial reports.
Validate new property and owner on-boarding, including the completion of tax and banking set-ups.
Manage the property sales tax filing and licensing process to fulfill jurisdictional requirements.
Ensure cash application is complete and accurate for guest folios and owners.
Record cash transactions in an accurate and complete manner.
Assist with performing audits and document requests for auditors.
Work cross-functionally with the business to ensure efficient processes for owner and property on-boarding and issue resolution.
Communicate with owners and external tax resources on accounting-related issues including monthly statements and tax notices. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business management, or related work experience.
5+ years of professional experience performing accounting duties; experience in property management, real estate, or hospitality preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) with a strong proficiency in Excel.
Experience with financial and property management systems.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the business.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be eligible to work in the United States. Must pass a background screening.
