Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for the assigned properties within the portfolio. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Utilize extensive knowledge of Yardi to manage property accounting records, maintain lease information, process accounts payable and receivable, and track property-related expenses efficiently.

  • Collaborate with the management team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts for each property. Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and provide insightful analysis on the variances.

  • Oversee the processing of invoices, rent payments, and vendor payments. Ensure accuracy and timely completion of financial transactions while adhering to company policies and procedures.

  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial data and identify any discrepancies for prompt resolution.

  • Assist in preparing necessary documentation and reports for property tax assessments, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

  • Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. Prepare journal entries and perform necessary reconciliations.

  • Provide support during external audits by preparing financial reports, schedules, and any other required documentation.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance financial reporting efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on mixed portfolios of commercial and residential properties.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in Yardi software
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide valuable insights.
  • Solid understanding of property management accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
