The TPM is responsible for managing the product life cycle from launch to end-of-life. Key areas of responsibility include continually monitoring serviceability, product escalations, cost optimizations, technology re-use and following the correct steps to discontinue, rationalize or obsolete products.

Development of New Features and Functionality

The TPM focuses on execution of organization priorities and initiatives by aligning R&D capacity and capability to maximize use of development resources. This requires deep understanding of both the needs of customers and the design specification to translate feature/function into discreet tasks for development. They are also responsible for defining the requirements for each feature and the desired user experience across a portfolio of X-Rite products, enabling a seamless experience for customers. TPMs are responsible for delivering best-in-class hardware performance, device workflows including UI/UX, and enabling inter-operability with various connected software solutions.

Ideation

Technical Product managers are often on the forefront of innovation, translating customer feedback into feature/function and own the process of generating, developing, and curating new ideas from the field. They have a deep understanding of their customer's needs, including domain expertise in color management and product identification. As innovators, they stay abreast with trends in technology that can unlock synergies across multiple product lines or enable breakthrough advances for their customers by, for example, incorporating Machine Vision or Artificial Intelligence into their product lines or development processes.

Core Responsibilities:

Feature Prioritization: Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, user feedback, and technical feasibility.

Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of user needs and business objectives.

User Stories: Write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications to guide the development team.

Release Planning: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to plan and prioritize releases, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the product development lifecycle.

Product Demos: Conduct product demos and gather feedback from stakeholders to iterate and improve the product iteratively.

User Experience: Advocate for a seamless and intuitive user experience, working closely with design and UX/UI teams to deliver user-friendly interfaces.

Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to define test cases and ensure the quality and reliability of the product.

Customer Satisfaction: Act as the voice of the customer, gathering feedback and insights to continuously improve the product and drive customer satisfaction.

Product Evangelism: Serve as a product evangelist, representing the product internally and externally, and educating stakeholders on its value proposition and features.

The essential requirements of the job include:

* Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or other relevant technical field. * Strong understanding of data architecture and web-based solutions with domain experience in color science and color critical workflows in manufacturing * Excellent project management and organizational skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. * Minimum 5 years' experience in product ownership, software development, or similar engineering with technical web-based or other software product, preferably in the field of color measurement instruments or related technology. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including fluency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. * Up to 20% travel with a mix of domestic and international locations.
