Product Manager – Compact Track Loaders

Yanmar Compact Equipment North America is a leader in the design, manufacturing, and support of a comprehensive range of compact machinery, including compact track loaders (CTL), mini excavators (MEX), wheel loaders (CWL), and additional equipment tailored for sectors such as construction, landscaping, utilities, land management, and agriculture. Our products are primarily distributed through a network of independent dealers.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role requires in-depth product knowledge and market insights regarding Compact Track Loaders (CTL) and Skid Steer Loaders (SSL) to support the Yanmar NA CE Product Management Team and its dealer network. The ideal candidate will possess extensive familiarity with the assigned products, their applications, operations, and system functionalities, particularly regarding CTLs and SSLs. A solid understanding of competitive offerings is essential. The Product Manager should be an analytical thinker with strong business and technical insight, capable of effective communication across diverse audiences, comfortable working autonomously, and able to interpret data to provide actionable recommendations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Conduct competitive analysis by collecting, analyzing, and organizing data, identifying market trends, and recognizing opportunities, while advising on pricing and promotional strategies.

· Serve as a business advocate by interpreting market dynamics, gathering consumer feedback, identifying growth prospects, and communicating insights back to the organization.

· Define target markets and develop strategies for market penetration.

· Act as the Customer Advocate and Voice of The Customer; comprehend customer business needs related to our product offerings by capturing and articulating market challenges and translating them into requirements for product management, including design, performance expectations, features, and options.

· Oversee the creation and development of new products, conduct ongoing market research, monitor customer satisfaction, engage in product decision-making processes, and evaluate product performance.

· Identify and develop business cases for product extensions and enhancements.

· Stay informed about customer needs, competitor product offerings, purchasing preferences, and competitive advantages/disadvantages.

· Participate in industry associations to build familiarity with major contractors and dealers; plan and attend trade shows and events relevant to specific markets.

· Analyze revenue, model mix, and configuration sales trends.

· Support product training initiatives and the development of training materials.

· Provide technical sales support to the field team.

· Collaborate with the Marketing Department to provide input on promotional needs.

ESSENTIAL INTERACTIONS:

Engage with all levels of YANMAR & ASV Management, leadership, employees, dealers, colleagues, and customers.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred, with engineering experience considered a plus.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction equipment sales, marketing, or engineering roles; strong familiarity with CTLs and SSLs is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Professional knowledge of business development, marketing, and sales principles and practices.

· Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 25% travel required.
