Job Description Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for several accounting processes including recording and tracking revenue and expenses for various parts of our business. The Staff Accountant will have a key role in maintaining compliance with current policies and procedures, along with performing research and analysis on new activities and communicating and implementing any changes necessary. Job Description Essential Functions Reconcile certain accounts on a monthly basis, including cash and accounts payable. Answer and respond to all customer and vendor inquiries on a timely basis. Assist in creating various internal and external financial reports that display overall business performance and financial position. Meet with department leadership to review results of internal reports. Report information externally to ensure results are clear and communicated effectively. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly, accurately, and in accordance with internal controls and accepted accounting practices. Assist with the preparation and filing of various sales and income tax returns. Assist with audits by third parties. Support and help advise Leadership and shareholders in making educated economic decisions about the future of the organization and its related entities. Uphold systems and controls which verify the integrity of all accounting processes and data, and the values of the organization. Assist with achieving the day-to-day and month-end operational objectives of the Finance Team. Participate in a wide variety of special projects including accounting research of new and proposed transactions, ensuring proper accounting processes are in place. Represent the organization in a professional manner at all times. Personal Attributes Integrity and adherence to the highest level of confidentiality. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize work efficiently, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform multifaceted projects in conjunction with daily activities. Ability to interact efficiently with Executive Leadership, Team Leads, and other associates. Self-motivated with a desire to lead and grow professionally. Strong attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills. Exceptional time management. Skills And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Minimum of four (4) years of prior accounting experience. Strong understanding of business and accounting principles. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Workday experience preferred, but not required.
