We at Danieli are "One Stop Shop Solution" for all steel major players around the world. Danieli is looking for a Site Manager for the Thin Slab Caster-Mold & Segment Workshop. The Site Manager manages and coordinates a multidisciplinary workforce and ensures compliance with maintenance plans in compliance with contractual obligations towards the customer. Supervises, gives direction and prioritizes work of 20-30 workshop team members. Coordinates with the customers and reports hierarchically to the Hub Service Manager.
Tasks and Day-to-Day Activities in the role:
- Maintenance Site Manager performs a wide range of tasks to ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained. Some of their main tasks include:
- Ensure staff adhere to good safety practice and policies
- Ensure good use of staff resources and ensures they remain productive
- Identify, report, and help resolve obstacles as they occur (examples; material shortages, design anomalies, quality issues, and equipment failures)
- Assist in defining thin-slab-caster production schedules considering mold & segment-workshop capacity plans
- Identifies opportunities, leads initiatives and promotes continuous improvement of procedures, machinery and equipment to optimize safety, productivity and quality
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of time reporting records by staff for both project time reporting and payroll purposes
- Perform administrative duties (e.g., word processing, light typing, filing, data entry, and report keeping)
- Provide data on key performance measures as assigned
- Continuously evaluates staff performance and provides timely feedback
- Participate and contribute to root cause analysis exercises
- Make decisions regarding personnel matters within the limits of human resources policy
- Organize and maintain work areas
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering, or in a related discipline, or an equivalent education and background also acquired in the field
- At least (8+) years' experience within the iron & steel industry
- Hold a proven track record in a managerial role
- Experienced Maintenance Manager with clear understanding of Reliability Engineering Strategies and Systems
- Candidate who can demonstrate active experience and knowledge within either an operational or maintenance role, specifically in the fields of Casting and/or Hot/Cold Rolling will have an advantage
- Willing to travel initially in the first year; 70% internationally or domestically for training and customer sites
