The AR Specialist will be responsible for efficiently processing all cash receipts received by the organization in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and our best practices.Job duties include, but are not limited to:Process and records incoming payments into donor database and general ledger softwareGenerates donor statements, program invoices and payment acknowledgments lettersPrepares daily bank depositsAssists with reconciling month-end receivables and revenue accountsResponsible for researching discrepancies and investigating transaction level detail for donor activityCommunicates with donors about account inquiries and unpaid balancesResponsible for recording reclassifications for unapplied payments, gifts and pledgesPrepares check requests for pass through donationsMaintains electronic documentation of all cash receipts (Checks, ACH, stock donations)REQUIREMENTSWhat You Need:1+ years of experience in accounting a plusAble to work independently and use sound judgment in making decisionsAttention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively with kindness and respectAbility to effectively collaborate with colleagues and donorsProficiency in Word, Excel and experience with Google products and database knowledgeThe Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
