WHAT we are is entirely about WHO we are: a motley crew of personalities with uniquely honed specialties and skill sets, who share a passion for creating memorable events and growing our clients’ bottom line. Our focus is to build profound relationships through exceptional client service, based on honesty, transparency, consistency and great work. We are committed to making our client’s event, brand and marketing all it can be.
As an Event Manager at KM&A, your main responsibility is to make sure that our clients are successful. That’s what they expect from us, so that’s what we’ll expect from you. You will be responsible for building and executing events that move the ROI needle and exceed expectations for those in attendance. You’ll have the chance to put your stamp on this agency along the way. Sound exciting? Keep reading.
More about what you’ll do:
- Plan and execute first class event experiences
- Develop event strategies stemming from big ideas then curate and execute a plan to meet our clients’ strategic event marketing goals.
- Collaborate with leadership and department heads to ensure operational goals are met of internal and external stakeholders.
- Cultivate, lead and support specific projects and generate enthusiasm across departments.
- Manage day-to-day activities and oversee execution of events with measurable results.
- Oversee event performance related to both the client ROI and internal profitability.
- Partner with the account and leadership teams to identify growth opportunities with current and prospective event clientele.
- Onsite leadership and execution of all events related projects.
- Build and manage event registration processes.
- Source, negotiate and execute hotel and venue contracts.
- Manage external vendor relationships.
But if you’re the right person for the job, then you already know what a rock star Event Manager does, so we’d rather focus on who you are at the core.
Who you are:
- You know (and love) events inside and out and have at least 5 years of event management experience.
- You thrive on planning
- You know the devil is in the details.
- You are a king/queen at multi-tasking and an organizational wizard
- You know and expect changes... and get excited about the challenge of how to overcome them.
- You are you passionate about new event technology and tools
- You understand the importance of internal and external cross functional communication… in fact it’s probably in your DNA
- The details, data, budgets and deadlines put you in your happy place
- You’re a hero. You’re the top-of-the-class performer who gets things done… on time, every time.
- You understand the importance of a financial plan and can build as well as manage small and large-scale event project budgets.
- You know the event world is diverse and vast, why its place in a marketing plan is important, and the dots it will connect for a client’s story – because you have been connecting those dots for years.
- You consistently operate at the highest level but aren’t afraid to be flexible from leading your team and your strategic work to the tactical execution. The idea of personally managing some of our biggest clients’ events doesn’t scare you.
- You’re not afraid of tough conversations with tough clients; you can convince them to trust our experts and sometimes get outside their comfort zone. In many ways, you enjoy influencing people in order to achieve the desired end result.
- You’re willing to educate both small businesses and billion-dollar companies who don’t know as much as they should about event planning and how essential it is to the overall success of their marketing goals.
- You’re tough as nails in presentations and have excellent writing skills.
- You have a knack for anticipating outcomes and problem solving.
- You have a bachelor’s degree.
- An added bonus but not a requirement: CMP Certification
- And finally, you’re a positive person who has fun and wants to join a great team with a special culture.
