Special Events Coordinator

The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research at Indiana University School of Medicine conducts cutting-edge research in pediatric diseases. As a Special Events Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the center's mission by assisting with event planning, coordination, and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compose and send emails on behalf of the Program Manager for event communication.
  • Assist with event planning, including registration, ordering, budgeting, and creation of lists and name tags.
  • Help during events, if schedule permits.
  • Assist with setting up surveys and compiling results after events.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Help the Program Manager with data entry for summer internships database.
  • Follow up with summer interns on their education and career status.
  • Compose and send emails on behalf of the Program Manager for summer internships communication.
  • Assist with application setup, downloading applications for each program, and contacting interns after selections have been made.
Wells Seminar Series:
  • Contact administrative assistants to obtain talk title, CV, brief bio, and headshot for each external speaker.
  • Send information to the Communications Generalist once items are received for the flyers.
  • Assist with event setup, if available.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
Skills:
  • Proficient communication skills.
Working Conditions:

This role requires effective communication and the ability to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
