Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting in all interpreting requests, including Conference and Event interpreting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with international vendors and clients, as well as strong planning and organization skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Department in managing correspondence related to event logistics, including emails and phone calls.
  • Answer phone and take requests during work hours, as needed.
  • Schedule appointments for same day and future appointments for both ASL and FL.
  • Data entry of appointment information before appointments occur.
  • Maintain and organize event-related documentation.
  • Perform data entry tasks, such as inputting information into Monday.com and One Drive.
  • Compile and organize data for event reports/metrics.
  • Assist in the vetting of new resources outside of Indiana, ensuring interpreters have the necessary knowledge, training, and TB testing.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all technical equipment, including tracking usage and conducting regular audits.
  • Equipment Preparation: Prepare equipment for events by performing necessary maintenance, testing, and packing.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions or issues before, during, and after events.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Department and other team members to understand the specific technical needs of each event.
  • Post-Event: Assist with the breakdown and proper storage of equipment after events.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience working with international vendors and clients, Interpreting or translation experience preferred.
  • Possess strong planning and organization skills, with a project management mindset.
  • Adaptable and able to handle last-minute changes with a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail and ownership of one's work.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset, ready to assist where needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with event management software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, customer service and detail oriented.
