In our time of Company growth, we are seeking a Financial Counselor at our Daughtrey Elementary.

Work Location: Bradenton, Florida
As part of this role, you will:
  • Provide enrollment assistance which may include completing coverage applications, gathering required documents and troubleshooting the enrollment process for discount health services, uninsured children and adults to access subsidized, low-cost and free health insurance programs through the health insurance Marketplace, Medicaid, Kidcare and Medicare.
  • Provide structured patient education on health coverage engages in follow-up conversations and offers renewal assistance for enrolled individuals
  • Distribute materials as directed by supervisor to patients, community members, partner organizations and businesses to build coverage option awareness
  • Attend community events as directed by supervisor where there is a need to build awareness of coverage options
  • Provide enrollment activities at various local agencies as directed by supervisor
  • Attend and successfully completes all required training programs; participates in conference calls, webinars, and other professional development opportunities
  • Accurately provide required reporting in Excel and Microsoft word to track goal achievement and client satisfaction
  • Ability to successfully obtain ACA Marketplace Certification and other certifications as needed to provide enrollment activities
  • Responsible for working with the billing department to verify patient balances and establish payment plans
  • Provide information to patients about payment plans, creates payment plans and agreements
  • Responsible for notifying supervisor or Outreach & Eligibility Director of immediate or pending system errors
  • Run Medicaid verification for all dates of service for eligibility on self-pay patients and sends a notice to billing if the service date is eligible
Requirements

What you need to bring to this role:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • 4+ years' experience with discount health services and other federal programs applications preferred
  • Knowledge of health and human services infrastructure, health insurance programs, and public coverage options
  • Ability to complete & obtain ACA Marketplace Certification or other certifications as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to move between sites as needed (with mileage reimbursement)
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers in stressful situations
  • Detail-oriented with an organized mindset
  • Must be flexible, resourceful, and able to troubleshoot
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities
