About Food For The Poor

Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of the hungry poor primarily in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance. Overall Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing USAID programs in accordance with federal reporting guidelines and regulations. Collaborate with in-country partners to ensure adherence to grant requirements, project timelines, and federal mandates. Engage closely with partners to evaluate project impact, report accurately on progress, address implementation challenges, and share insights. Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and effective communication abilities. Demonstrate proficiency in working within diverse teams and exhibit curiosity about data and its significance.

Requirement:

Valid passport with the necessary travel visa.

Duties: Oversee the execution and documentation of USAID's International Food Relief Partnership (IFRP) Program, which involves collaborating with local partners to ensure compliance with grant stipulations, project schedules, and governmental regulations. Responsibilities also include generating monthly progress reports, impact narratives, annual outcome assessments, and conclusive reports. Additionally, coordinating the procurement and transportation of commodities essential to the program. Oversee the execution and reporting of USAID's American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) program awards, which involves collaborating with local partners to ensure compliance with grant stipulations, project schedules, governmental regulations and the preparation of progress reports. Supervise the implementation of USAID's Limited Excess Property Program (LEPP), aimed at acquiring essential donated federal surplus property, in collaboration with Food For The Poor's Gifts In Kind Department and local partners. This includes tasks such as preparing the necessary 607 certifications, monitoring, managing logistics, and crafting comprehensive reports and impact narratives. Additionally, ensure the completion of Do No Harm analyses for each LEPP shipment. Collaborate with the grant writer to prepare the LEPP application for submission to USAID/LEPP. Manage the implementation of USAID's Ocean Freight Reimbursement (OFR) Program, including but not limited to monitoring and coordinating all program logistics and preparing all reports; and work with grant writer in the preparation of the OFR application for submission to USAID/OFR. Cultivate and nurture excellent relationships with In-Country Partners. Create charts and other visual materials to support reports and grant applications. Submit government reporting documents via the ART module of AAMP and/or any other governmental management information platform. Perform additional task related duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Industrial Engineering, International Relations, Development Studies, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Minimum of 3-5 years of grant programs management experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience on the programmatic side of a relief and development organization. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Proven track record of successful grant applications, experience with USAID grants a plus Proficiency in analyzing data and communicating program effectiveness. Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Exceptional writing skills, ability to communicate complex ideas succinctly. Considerable understanding of at least some of the following technical areas: community development, agriculture, health, education, economic empowerment, child sponsorship, food security, and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene). Ability to travel within the Latin America and Caribbean region if needed. Willingness to acquire expertise in specific policies, regulations, and legal mandates relevant to Federal Programs/Grants.
