Description and Requirements

We are hiring a fall intern to join our team as a Customer Quality Engineer. This position offers a broad range of lab-based experience inside ThinkPad and Visuals/Accessories/ThinkSmart Product Engineering. This is a hands-on position that will expand your understanding of PC hardware, subsystems, accessories/options/monitors, and the Windows OS & drivers. In addition, you will be working with a global team of technology experts within one of the world's leading technology firms.

Detailed Responsibilities:
  • Evaluating emerging technology from both a business, technical, and user perspective
  • Work with Product Engineers on problem reproduction and debug
  • Functional testing on various laptops, accessories, docks, IoT devices, and other portable devices
  • Documenting test results and findings based on the analysis performed in the lab
  • Assisting engineers with typical laboratory work tasks including break/fix, asset management, measurements (voltage, thermal, acoustic, etc), shipping, etc
  • Some customer fieldwork with the engineers may be a possibility
Position Requirements:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Hobbyist or professional experience with PC assembly/repair preferred
  • Self-motivated
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions
  • Ability to work onsite at the Morrisville, NC location

Willing to consider part-time (20 hours per week) applicants with prior relevant Lenovo Internship experience.
