Position Overview:

We are in search of a proficient and adaptable software engineer dedicated to the design, development, and enhancement of our automated testing initiatives. Our electronics testing division focuses on creating tools and applications that support the automated assessment and validation of power control systems and transfer switch products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all stages of the software product development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, validation, and maintenance within an agile framework.
  • Analyze, improve, and tailor existing products and solutions for the testing of electronic control and communication systems.
  • Develop both software and hardware tools to automate the collection of test data and assist in system configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Create new test scripts utilizing Python.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain automated testing scripts and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with project team members in Agile Development, participating in daily Scrum meetings and tri-weekly Sprint reviews.
  • Conduct periodic code reviews and maintain comprehensive documentation of the products under development.
  • Test solutions in controlled environments prior to production release.
  • Formulate test and qualification strategies, along with detailed procedures.
  • Research industry advancements in technology and solutions.
  • Configure automated tests for reliable and efficient execution in CI/CD environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in software engineering, particularly with Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Strong background in software development for both product creation and testing.
  • Experience in architecting new software solutions and developing requirements documentation.
  • Comfortable in developing and executing test plans.
  • Experience in conducting both manual and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with test-driven development methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow engineers and manage defects identified during testing.
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as GIT and Subversion.
  • Experience with bug tracking and requirement management tools like Jira.
  • Experience in developing cross-platform applications.
  • Experience in testing embedded systems, including both hardware and software/firmware.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of communication networking interfaces such as CAN, USB, RS232, R485, and Ethernet.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols like MODBUS.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment including power supplies, meters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.

This position is temporary with an estimated duration of 7 months, with the possibility of extension. Only candidates authorized to work in the designated country will be considered.
