JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises department associates in materials department.
Supervises and works together with Material Manager in resolving issues.
Interprets company policies to staff and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specification and job orders to department associates and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet material schedules.
Recommends measures to improve methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department, or work crew.
Analyses and resolves work problems, or assists department associates in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate department associates to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records and schedules overtime as needed.
Confers with Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Conducts accident investigations.
Provides orientation training for new associates.
Communicates with quality department to ensure consistent application of quality requirements.
Regular and prompt attendance.
Maintains high level of housekeeping as per 5S goals.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Monitors/inventories

Verifies customer shipping requirements and escalates when necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise material handling and shipping associates.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability to successfully perform the job.
Education and/or experience
High School Diploma or GED Equivalency and one year or more related experience and/or training.
Language Skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, etc.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificate, Licenses, Registrations
Must be certified and licensed to operate a forklift.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving machinery and fumes.
