Job Description

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Corporate Controller and based in North Haven, the Senior Staff Accountant performs all General Accounting activities for the Ulbrich Shaped Wire division and possibly other divisions; prepares annual budgets, forecasts and year-end fiscal reports; directs the division's physical inventory and financial record audits; assures adherence to company financial policies and procedures; monitors monthly/quarterly financial performance and makes appropriate recommendations to achieve desired profit objectives and ROI; prepares requested reports/analysis for presentation to Ulbrich management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: (The essential duties and responsibilities listed below are not all encompassing. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned consistent with business requirements.)
  • Performs all general accounting activities for the division including: General ledger, financial statement preparation, financial records, capital expenditures, bank, IRS, and other financial audits.
  • Prepares and monitors annual budget and proforma forecast in conjunction with Divisional VP and corporate management's annual financial goals/strategies.
  • Directs & coordinates annual physical inventory and cycle counts for all locations within the Division.
  • Assures divisional adherence to company financial policies and procedures and interacts effectively with corporate credit and financial staff.
  • Proactively monitors monthly and quarterly divisional financial performance and makes appropriate recommendations to achieve desired profit objectives and ROI.
  • Prepares requested reports and analysis for presentation to Ulbrich management in an accurate and timely manner.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:

A bachelor's degree in accounting required plus some experience within a general or cost accounting support function. Demonstrated ability to compile data accurately. Must have a working knowledge of general accounting principles. Strong working knowledge of the use and application of Microsoft Office suite software products, intermediate excel knowledge. Must have strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization across all departments in order to provide and obtain required information.
