Summary The Project Controls Analyst position provides support to the Corporate Capital Projects & Engineering Group in the implementation and coordination of project controls activities for major capital projects. The ideal candidate for this entry level position will have basic knowledge of project management and project controls activities for construction projects and be able to work under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Project Controls following established procedures and performing analysis duties with limited scope and complexity. Responsibilities The Project Controls Analyst provides support in the implementation of the necessary tools and systems to effectively manage, control, evaluate, and report on cost, schedule, and risk for major capital projects; displays ability to learn new processes, applying standard analytical techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out project controls tasks as directed. The Project Controls Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Support the Capital Projects, and Engineering (CPE) group with implementation and maintenance of project controls systems, including cost, schedule, risk management Helps generate associate reporting for capital expansion projects consisting of greenfield and brownfield construction, and T/A projects for Chemical plants Help to furnish internal reports on cost, schedule, and risk, on a monthly basis Help in the preparation of various financial reports as needed Compiles information for analysis; and assist in the preparation of internal reports. Interface and support project team with gathering of information as needed Help with the interface with other departments to provide project financial data as needed Education, Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, or equivalent Skills and Experience A minimum of one year of comparable work history Basic knowledge of project controls best practices, methodologies and techniques Familiarity with the execution of construction projects Ability to work as part of a team across organizational lines Good analytical skills and detail oriented Organizational skills required to simultaneously manage multiple activities Proficiency with MS Office software, particularly MS Excel Experience with SAP software Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills
