: $18.50 - $21.00 hourly Position Overview: The Programs and Events Department seeks a highly organized and proactive individual to join the team as an Events Assistant. In this role, you will assist with the administrative and logistical tasks associated with planning events across the Institute’s various departments. The ideal candidate will be adept in multi-tasking, prioritization, and communication. This position will report to the Senior Programs and Events Coordinator. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide administrative support to the Programs and Events department Oversee events department calendar and scheduling Assist with record keeping and database maintenance Keep inventory of supplies and order as necessary Provide logistical support to the Programs and Events department for a range of events including panels, roundtables, conferences, galas, etc. Communicate internally with other departments regarding upcoming events Assist in the creation of event marketing materials Print and distribute necessary materials for events Set up and clean up for in-person events Update and inform staff members of department processes and procedures Collaborate with team members to support departmental goals and initiatives Participate in weekly meetings Contribute ideas regarding events/programming and departmental processes Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required) in International Relations, Political Science, Middle East Studies, Event Management or other relevant subject Minimum of 1-2 years experience (can include internships, fellowships) in an events or administrative position Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities Strong command of modern technology (MS Office, Google Workspace, Zoom etc.) Excellent communication skills both written and verbal [Preferred] Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software [Preferred] Knowledge of AV system setup
