About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Event Marketing Coordinator to join our team for a part-time, seasonal contract position. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful promotion, design, and execution of our monthly member events and two signature summer events: the BWB Family Reunion and Boston While Black: The Vineyard Edition. You will wear two hats project manager and executor overseeing all aspects of event marketing and ensuring a seamless experience for attendees.

Responsibilities:

Event Promotion:

  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans for BWB events.
  • Craft engaging social media content to promote events across various platforms.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns for event registration and promotion.
  • Coordinate media outreach to secure local press coverage.

Event Design & Production:

  • Collaborate with designers to create visually appealing event branding materials.
  • Oversee signage production for event locations.
  • Manage the selection and procurement of event dcor, ensuring it aligns with the overall event theme.
  • Work with external vendors on photo/video services to capture event highlights.

Project Management & Execution:

  • Develop detailed marketing timelines and budgets for each event.
  • Manage and delegate tasks to internal BWB team members.
  • Oversee the hiring and communication with external contractors (e.g., designers, videographers).
  • Ensure all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Track and analyze event metrics to measure success.
  • Develop a detailed shot list and content capture plan for each event and ensure critical content is captured and stored.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in event marketing or a related field.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in social media marketing and content creation.
  • Experience with graphic design principles (a plus).
  • Familiarity with event budgeting and vendor management is preferred.
  • Passion for the BWB mission and a commitment to creating enriching experiences for the Black community in Boston.
  • Display an understanding of culturally relevant storytelling and narrative building.
