**Environmental Health Safety Manager (EHS)**

at Twist Bioscience USA - South San Francisco, CA Twist Bioscience is looking for an outstanding candidate to manage Twist's Safety, Health, and Environment Department. Reporting to the Facilities Director, you will be responsible for management of Twist's facility in South San Francisco , as well as provide support for Twist Facilities in other locations worldwide. This includes maintaining and supporting CGMP and ISO certified production facilities. This is a growth position; that is, candidate is expected to work with the Facilities Director in setting objectives and goals and grow the facilities organization as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

The individual hired for this position will manage the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) responsibilities at Twist Bioscience San Francisco This will include the development and implementation of SHE programs, working on closure of gaps identified, the initiation and completion of improvement projects, manage hazardous waste stream to include regulatory documentation and waste handling contractors.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement SHE management systems to drive compliance with safety and environmental regulations at the state and federal level.

* Perform and guide activities related to all site SHE programs including Ergonomics, Personal Protective Equipment, Fall Protection, Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO), Confined Spaces, Contractor Safety, and Hazard Communication, etc.

* Management all aspects of chemical inventory. Effectively influence others to take action to mitigate SHE risks.

* Conduct ergonomic risk assessments to systematically identify and reduce risk of work -related musculoskeletal disorders, includes both office and manufacturing setups. Conduct inspections and job hazard (risk) analyses.

* Identify and implement corrective and preventative actions.

* Assist in investigation of SHE incidents and development of corrective actions.

* Experience with Incident Command structure

Qualifications and Requirements

* Experience with implementing and or managing an industrial ergonomics program.

* Work effectively with multiple levels of employees.

* Well-developed planning and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize activities, meet commitments, and proactively manage time and a challenging workload.

* Utilize approaches that require innovation and change.

* Demonstrates clear and concise oral and written skills as well as an ability to train others.
