Job DescriptionCollegiate Hotel Group® is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join Graduate Berkeleyand its brilliant team of hospitality enthusiasts.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms general maintenance in guest units, buildings, pools, and common areasWill have a working knowledge of the use of hand tools and power tools, as well as for repairing and troubleshooting carpentry, plumbing, electric, and HVAC issuesRepairs and installs appliances as needed with minimal supervisionPerforms maintenance to plumbing such as pipes, drains, faucets, disposals, showers, tubs, etc.Prevents and troubleshoots electrical issues on equipment, fixtures, outlets and switchesInspects and performs preventative maintenance in units and public areasReports, responds to, and repairs safety issues in guest units, buildings, pools, common areas, and equipmentCompletes all daily assignments in a timely mannerPrioritizes work orders against daily assignments, keeping in constant contact with the department and/or the front desk to update jobs completedMaintains the appearance of the property by picking trash and debris, responding and mopping up spills, cleaning exterior fixtures, etc.Performs minor plaster repair, blending newly renovated wall surfaces with existing plaster.Applies wallpaper, paints, sealers, and solvents to exterior and interior building surfaces such as plaster, sheetrock, concrete, and wood.Other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred Minimum of 3 years in Maintenance position, preferably within hotels Preferred but not necessary: Two (2) years of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESBasic math skills Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members Excellent time management skills Detail oriented; strives for excellence in all assignments BENEFITS/ PERKSWork today, get paid today, with Daily PayFree telemedicine and virtual mental health care access for all team members starting day oneMultiple health insurance and life insurance options401k plan + company matchPaid time off for eligible team membersHoliday pay/ paid holidaysPet insuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramDiscounted hotel roomsSavings Marketplace discounts on event tickets, electronics, gym memberships + more*The hiring process may consist of a phone interview, manager(s) interview, drug screen, background check, reference checks, and potential employment assessment.
