JOB TITLE:Peer Recovery Navigator

ABOUT THE POSITION:

In this position, Peer Navigators will utilize their lived experience to engage consumers in increasing their desire for change and linking them to appropriate services.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts Risk Assessments, Co-occurring Screens and Functional Assessments.
  • Provide follow up engagement supports including but not limited to: brief recovery coaching, relapse prevention and safety planning support and inclusion of family involvement where appropriate.
  • Collaborates with individuals to identify treatment options and assist in positive engagement with new or existing treatment providers.
  • Collaborates with individuals to create individualized, person-centered treatment plans and documents clients progress during treatment.
  • Use Motivational Interventions to assist clients in meeting their goals and moving along their paths to recovery, utilizing stage wise interventions.
  • Provide psycho-educational rehabilitation services group and individual for recovery from psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.
  • Support individual with linking and engaging with natural (family, friends) or community supports.
  • Develop crisis plans for clients and work with other staff to respond to crisis situations as needed.
  • Provide skills teaching, such as assisting clients in obtaining/ maintaining housing and utilities; learning how to use transportation services, planning and preparing nutritional meals, engage and communicate with family and friends, be safe in the community, care for children and other family members, and solve everyday problems that arise.
  • Provide intensive skill building interventions and support for self-management, self-advocacy, health and well-being, relapse prevention, and using community resources.
  • Participate in family education and support activities.
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Provides Transportation to consumers as a part of linking and engaging them in services.
  • Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Additional duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Recovery Support specialist: High School Diploma, Life experience.

Experience: Recovery Support Specialist: 2+ years working with identified populations

Individuals with lived experience with mental illness or substance abuse are encouraged to apply.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Advocacy Unlimited or CCAR: Recovery Support Certification required. Valid driver's license.

Training: Participate in trainings held by RSS Coordinator, complete all required agency trainings as well as trainings as assigned by supervisor.

COMPENSATION*:

$17.71/hour min.-$26.57/hour max., dependent upon experience.

*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
