SUMMARY

  • Position reports to the Project Site Construction Manager. Provides site support and oversight for all quality related aspects of erection activities of the CHP Project which will involve the review of planning/coordination of activities, review of Contractors deliverables, review of ongoing works, compliance with Contractors ITP, and the acceptance of Contractors works with respect to quality, functionality and contract adherence. Position will also support the review of Contractors monthly claimed progress and validation thereof.Oversees and monitors the inspection and testing processes and procedures of the Completion Contractor and ensures adherence to established quality standards, specification requirements and contractual obligations
  • Review and Confirm the Completion Contractors inspection protocols, sampling procedures and verifies equipment and mechanisms to be used in the various testing processes
  • Performs Inspection of in-progress works and completed works using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality
  • Ensures that Recorded inspection results via completing reports, summarized re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database
  • Assist the Construction Site Manager in all necessary aspects involving site activities.
  • Assist and participate in all aspects of Site Safety oversight, meetings, walk-downs, etc.
  • Review drawings, documents, subcontracts and specifications to compare to work products
  • Assist Completion Contractor in the development of test methods and inspection plans by review of the submitted ITPs
  • Prepare, generate, and accept closure of NCRs
  • Assist in the determination of potential causes of work defects and reworks
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data of Completion Contractors works
  • Provide support in claim management and documentation including variation management and reporting and contract entitlements.
  • Effectively apply methodology and enforce project standards.
  • Monitor, control and minimize risks on the project.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Ensure Handover Documentation packages are complete and in compliance.
  • Collaborate with, and work alongside, Contractor in all areas of works for the project.
  • As assigned, facilitate team and client meetings effectively.
  • Attend regular status meetings with project team.
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors.
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor and inspect erection works / installation activities of the Contractor with regard to progress, compliance with the Contract and applicable codes/standards, quality, safety and environmental acceptance.
  • Review, provide input and approve Contractors general erection/installation work method statements.
  • Review, provide input and approve erection works related matters submitted by the Contractor.
  • Provide correspondence input for instructions to ensure strict adherence to general and project requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Held a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) license at some point in career. (Preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience for power projects including construction and commissioning.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project experience for projects in excess of $50M USD.
