A large organization in Stony Brook, NY is hiring an Human Resources Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. We are seeking someone with prior HR experience looking to gain experience with a well known business. This role will begin ASAP and will go through 2/25/25. Responsibilities

Customer Service and Communication:

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, providing prompt and professional assistance to employees and external contacts.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, ensuring accurate information is relayed or routed to the appropriate team members.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Administrative Support:

  • Maintain and organize employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection and company policies.
  • Draft and process correspondence, reports, and other HR-related documents.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, and appointments for HR personnel and leadership.
  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed for the HR department.
HR Functions:

  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing new hire paperwork and coordinating exit interviews.
  • Track employee attendance and maintain HR databases with up-to-date information.
  • Support payroll and benefits administration by gathering and inputting required data.
  • Coordinate and participate in employee engagement initiatives and events.
Travel Planning:

  • Arrange travel and accommodation for employees, candidates, and leadership as needed.
  • Prepare travel itineraries and ensure all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Monitor travel expenses and reconcile expense reports in collaboration with the finance team.
