POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Business Modernization Program Manager will lead a multi-year technological modernization effort which will affect all major systems Vanderbilt uses to conduct business operations. They are responsible to develop an overarching program plan and schedule, assemble and manage project teams, create project tasks and timeframes, identify and mitigate risks to program health, and communicate progress and status to various leaders within Vanderbilt. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops the major milestones, order, and priority of all projects involved in the Business Modernization Program with appropriately informed stakeholders, team members, and executives. Directs the creation and execution of detailed plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements for multiple projects and initiatives within the company. Assembles and manages project teams, by assigning roles and responsibilities while holding all parties accountable to the successful deployment of company resources to accomplish program goals. Manages the creation of gap analysis between the vision of the business and capabilities of the technology offerings. Conducts market research and competitor analysis to identify innovative trends and opportunities that could be leveraged which align with Vanderbilt’s vision map and initiatives. Conducts change impact assessments to understand the effects of transformation/modernization efforts on Vanderbilt’s customers, employees, leadership, and other business unit’s plans and operations. Defines key performance indicators (KPIs) for each transformation/modernization project and ensures tracking mechanisms are in place to monitor and measure project performance. Monitors program progress, identifies potential risks, and directs mitigation strategies with key leadership and stakeholders from the business and technology teams. Conducts regular status updates and post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned. Provides regular updates and presentations on program progress and status to executive leadership and stakeholders. Sets a clear vision and mission for the team aligned with the overall program goals, fosters a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages innovation and high performance, and works with the HR department to address talent needs, including recruitment and skill development. Collaborates with legal, accounting, audit, and other indirect teams to understand compliance and regulatory requirements that impact the successful outcome of various projects. Identifies training opportunities to enhance the team's capabilities in accordance with the program's objectives. Establishes a consistent feedback loop with peers and managers and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Fosters and maintains strong relationships with current and potential 3rd parties/vendors. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Organizational Management, or a related field. Graduate degree in the above is preferred. 7-10 years of related experience required. Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is an advantage; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or experience is a plus. Understanding of business modernization frameworks and strategies. Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in business modernization. Experience in developing and executing comprehensive program plans. Understanding of technology landscapes and the ability to integrate new technologies into existing systems. Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities and make complex decisions. Ability to lead teams through organizational change with excellent communication and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Leadership skills to guide and inspire a diverse team and an ability to foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment and culture. Flexibility and adaptability to navigate through a dynamic and evolving environment. Ability to quickly adjust strategies based on changing circumstances. Previous experience developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans. Storytelling skills to convey the vision and progress of the digital transformation. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work internally across all teams as well as externally with partners and vendors. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. 50% of communication completed over the phone and various digital methods.
