Position Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for maintaining Accounts Receivable (AR) ledgers for assigned client accounts including review and analysis of client agreements, creating accurate bills in accordance with contractual terms, review of revenue entries through variance analysis, posting of payments and reconciliation of AR subledger to General Ledger (GL) to identify and resolve discrepancies, as well as analysis, reporting, and follow up on aged outstanding balances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes client agreements for accurate billing, revenue recognition, and payment term application.
Manages billing process for non-patient clients such as Athletic Training, Onsite, and other miscellaneous services.
Analyzes billings and collections data using system-generated reports and performs timely, accurate, and complete account reviews and collections activities for assigned accounts.
Effectively utilizes and maintains the Client's information systems in the analysis and resolution of customer issues (client supplier management systems, internal ERP, expense reporting system, etc.).
Manages posting, recording, and issue resolution of payments promptly and accurately in the ERP system and promptly reconciles AR subledger to the general ledger.
Resolves past-due invoices and customer claims on a timely basis, including proactive identification of account issues.
Maintains and reconciles AR ledger and prepares reports on past-due accounts.
A nalyzes accounts receivable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Resolves billing issues, working with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies and disputes.
Participates in the annual audit process, including providing information for the assigned receivables PBC items.
Identifies trends and makes recommendations in development and improvement of processes and procedures around invoicing and accounts receivable management.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; accounting or finance degree preferred
Work Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ Accounts Receivable experience required; 3 years’ accounting experience preferred
Demonstrates experience and knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft, SAGE, etc.)
Certification/Licensure:
None Required
Knowledge and Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft 365 with expertise in Excel and Word
Solid understanding and knowledge of accounting principles
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
Physical Demands:
Ability to fulfill office activities including, but not limited to, remain stationary for extended periods of time (i.e., while working at a desk), stoop/kneel/crouch, travel around the office, communicate with others (verbal and written), and use fine motor skills including fine hand manipulation and keyboarding.
Ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment:
Consistent with a standard office environment, noise level is low with little to no extraordinary environmental factors.
