Student Food Service Assistant

Job Description

Location: South Neighborhood (Case and Holden)

$13 per hour As a student food service assistant, you will be under the supervisor of the on-shift full-time and student supervisors. As a Student Food Service Assistant, you will help Culinary Services achieve its mission of Delivering Outstanding Spartan Experiences by providing exceptional customer service to our residents and guests. Student Food Service assistants may be assigned to any of the following duties
- Trucking/serving at food stations
- Maintaining salad, beverage, or desserts stations
- Working in the dishroom

May be reassigned during the course of the shift, depending upon operational needs

Required Qualifications
•Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)
•Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service
•Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
•Must be positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population
•Be able to work nights, early mornings, and/or weekends

Preferred Qualifications

Previous food service experience is preferred but is not a qualification. For many of our employees, this is their first job
