Langan is seeking a **Traffic and Transportation Engineer** to join its collaborative team in **Philadelphia, Pa**. This individual will help lead and coordinate the planning, designing and permitting of traffic and transportation projects, often in conjunction with complex land-development and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will have the following opportunities:

* Work on exciting and complex urban and suburban projects that create a positive impact in the communities in which we live, work and play;

* Work as an integrated team member in designing infrastructure improvements associated with commercial, mixed-use, industrial, higher-education, healthcare and other exciting land-development projects locally, nationally and internationally;

* Collaborate and learn from our multidisciplinary team of traffic and transportation, site/civil, landscape architecture, geotechnical, environmental and survey professionals; and

* Participate in life-long learning, career progression and professional organizations.

**Job Responsibilities:**

* Perform and manage projects and tasks within prescribed budgets, schedules, and deadlines;

* Coordinate and work with staff to determine the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of preliminary data;

* Coordinate and work with staff to prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and design for projects;

* Write and review reports including traffic-impact and parking studies;

* Assist in planning schedules and developing tasks and project budgets;

* Prepare progress reports and draft change orders;

* Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in collecting payments; and

* Perform other duties as requested.

**Qualifications:**

* Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (related Masters is a plus);

* Possess valid PA Professional Engineer licensure (other states a plus);

* 8 to 10 years of experience in related traffic and transportation engineering in the Eastern Pennsylvania and Philadelphia market;

* Proven leadership and ability to function as a seller/doer;

* Ability to perform all aspects of traffic engineering design such as roadway/highway design, streetscape and trail design and have knowledge of traffic-impact studies, corridor studies, traffic-signal warrant analysis, traffic-signal design;

* Thorough understanding of the PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permitting process and the Philadelphia Streets Department process;

* Proficiency in AutoCAD, and knowledge of Civil 3D, HCS and Syncro;

* Strong communication skills, particularly in report writing and public presentation;

* Able to develop business and forge relationships with others in the industry;

* Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple clients, develop budgets and manage projects;

* Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities; and

* Ability to work independently and mentor staff engineers and interact with experts in other discipline.
