Visitor Center Front Desk Associate

Position Responsibilities: GGreet all visitors, determine reason for visit and/or sell a tour, and provide them with information on tour procedures and facilities at the Visitor Center. Respond to inquiries from visitors, tour companies etc. in a courteous and helpful manner. Utilize the ticketing system, Xola, to check in on-line sales, transact walk up business and compile daily summary reports. Responsibilities include money handling; preparing daily summary report to balance with ticketing system Earnings Report. Follow procedures for opening/closing and maintain inventory (ticket stock, receipt paper, merchandise, bank deposit slips, daily summary report and marketing materials) and restock as needed. This position will occasionally work with Event Coordinators for large or after-hours event groups. Provide step-on greeting service to buses (if needed) during normal business hours or at JD after-hour events.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, capable of providing a positive public relations experience on behalf of the Jack Daniel brand to all visitors. Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable to quickly changing needs of the business. Must understand Xola ticketing system proficiently for assisting guests. Must have computer experience: Word, Excel and email programs Must be able to learn in-depth knowledge of Distillery guidelines for Security and Safety related to weather, production needs, medical incidents and general crowd control. Must be able to learn in-depth knowledge of whiskey-making process and of Jack Daniel's and Lynchburg's history and lore. Must be able to learn and keep abreast of commemorative bottles sold in White Rabbit Bottle Shop. Must be willing to work a schedule which involves weekend work to cover a 7 day/week Visitor Center operation; this includes day and evening work plus holidays and overtime. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
