Position Title: Marketing & Events Director

Overview: The Marketing & Events Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives to promote the Chamber’s programs, services, and brand. In addition, this role will assist with the creation, planning and execution of events that drive value to the Chamber’s membership.

This position will oversee all Chamber communications including sales and sponsorship collateral as well communication around membership benefits, advocacy and business attraction efforts. This role will work closely with the membership team to create event content, promote events and drive membership participation.

This position requires a highly organized, creative, and passionate individual with strong leadership skills to collaborate across departments to achieve both marketing and events objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy Development:

  • Develop comprehensive marketing & advertising strategies aligned with organizational goals and target audience preferences.
  • Define target market segments and develop positioning strategies to differentiate our communication outreach.
  • Identify and secure external subject-matter-experts to assist with the planning and execution of specific campaign strategies where needed.
  • Develop promotional strategies for events, leveraging various channels to reach target audiences effectively.
  • Create compelling event messaging and content to drive community engagement and generate interest among prospective attendees.
  • Lead and manage marketing agency activations including social media platforms, content creation and membership communication.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of promotional efforts and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

Brand Management:

  • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and touch points, including messaging, imagery, and tone of voice.
  • Develop and enforce brand guidelines to maintain brand integrity and enhance brand equity.
  • Monitor brand sentiment and reputation, responding promptly to feedback and addressing any issues or concerns.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, program development, advocacy, and economic development to align marketing efforts with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to support marketing initiatives and achieve mutual goals.
  • Act as a liaison between marketing and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Assist in the coordination of assigned Chamber events including venue selection, room layout, detailed run of show as well as the creation and oversight of event day roles and responsibilities for staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Liaise with external vendors and suppliers to secure necessary event support services, such as catering, audiovisual equipment, furniture and centerpieces as needed.
  • Oversee on-site event logistics to ensure seamless execution.
  • Ensure the event execution is consistent with the Chamber’s brand where an atmosphere of membership appreciation is seen through being detail obsessed, providing white glove service and a creating a look and feel that gives people energy and makes them smile. 

Membership and Sales:

  • Assist in membership engagement work to understand their preferences and interests, tailoring event offerings and Chamber benefits to meet their needs.
  • Partner with the membership team to create an event purpose statement as well as event content and speakers.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities for new member generation as well as non-dues revenue.

Sponsorship and Partnership Development:

  • Assist the sponsorship team in identifying potential sponsors and partners for events, cultivating relationships and securing commitments to support event objectives.
  • Collaborate with the sponsorship sales team to develop sponsorship packages and proposals that align with sponsor interests and objectives.
  • Ensure fulfillment of sponsor benefits before, during, and after events.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Passion for the Bentonville area and the Northwest Arkansas community.
  • Embraces the importance of serving Chamber members in a manner you would experience at the world’s best hotels.
  • Energy, excitement, positivity.
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (10 years) in marketing management roles, with a track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and motivating teams to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
