What You'll Do:

Responsibility for recording, reporting, and analyzing financial information and making appropriate inquiries of operations to obtain a broad understanding of the nature of the financial activity.

Prepares monthly journal entries, financial statements, financial narratives, and various management reports timely and accurately for AAA Mid-Atlantic and its subsidiaries.

Prepares all necessary account analysis for internal and external clients as required.

Documents accounting treatment for new processes and trains accounting staff in the use and application of these new procedures.

Completes special assignments entailing high levels of confidentiality, integrity, and quality as assigned.

Applies analytical and inductive thinking to improve the current processes and functions of the Financial Reporting Unit.

Actively participates with other internal departments (Information Technology, Road Service, Membership Records, Marketing, etc.) as warranted.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or related discipline and 5 years of experience in a corporate automated accounting environment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency in Crystal Reports or a similar reporting tool.

Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify problems quickly and recommend solutions.

Effective organizational and communication skills (oral and written) to enable accurate and prompt completion of assignments handled in a professional manner.

Proficiency in use of report-writing tools and web development tools such as: Seagate Crystal Reports, HTML, XML, JavaScript etc. preferred
