Paragon Insurance Holdings is a specialty MGA located in Avon, CT with an opening for an Underwriting Assistant. Launched in 2014, Paragon specializes in Specialty Commercial Programs. This role will provide excellent customer service, and assistance to the Underwriting Team, Brokers, and Carrier Partners. The Underwriting Assistant will work a hybrid schedule from our Avon, CT Offices

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting underwriting through a variety of functions that include new business and renewal policy set up, account coordination, report ordering, data collection and information follow-up.
  • Ordering Loss Runs
  • Issuing Binders and Invoicing
  • Managing Production Logs for Underwriting
  • Quality Control of policies
  • Inputs account information into MGA management system.
  • Proficient in rating and policy issuance based on binding conditions.
  • Promptly handles various requests from Agents and/or Underwriters through phone and written correspondence.
  • Manages account documentation (i.e., proposals, internal risk evaluation documents, etc.).
  • Responsible for handling high volumes of transactions.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year in the property casualty insurance industry. Policy Service background with emphasis in Commercial Lines. Experience with agency management systems, various Policy rating and issuance systems - IMS and/or Insurity Policy Decisions a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and other database software. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently.
  • High School Diploma required. College degree or equivalent work experience desired.
