uLab is on a mission to advance the orthodontic industry with digital treatment planning software and aligner products that let you take back control of your treatment plan. We help the orthodontic community streamline practices and provide the highest quality care to patients.

We are seeking a Human Resources Associate to join our team reporting to the Sr. Director, Human Resources.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources Associate role is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. The duties include understanding employment laws and aligning current policies and procedures, drafting HR documents and templates as well as working with other members of the department to assist the hiring and onboarding process for company employees.

This role is also responsible for executing the bi-weekly payroll processes for three (3) shifts and administering the employee benefits plan to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Will also assist on various finance centered projects as assigned.

This is a great role for someone that is on track for future HR leadership positions. Please note that this role is onsite.

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITES

Human Resources Operations

Assist in the day-to-day support of Human Resources (HR) transactions in collaboration with a HRIS and compensation (includes updating job descriptions, working through compensation requests and changes, approval of movement in the HRIS system, etc.)

Assist with investigating a variety of employee-related issues, incidents and complaints; resolve disputes and recommend appropriate actions.

Support recruiting efforts and hiring managers by interviewing, presenting offers, facilitating candidate logistics, scheduling onboarding and administering the training/orientation process.

Assist in the development and implementation of programs or information regarding HR policies, procedures or information.

Provide guidance to employees and management within scope of position; identify and actively respond with sensitivity to the needs of employees and business unit leaders.

Payroll Processing

Complete the end-to-end bi-weekly payroll process for exempt/nonexempt employees in the US. Ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursements. May collaborate with finance and relevant teams to address payroll-related queries.

Ensure compliance with state regulations by managing the employee registration process in each state where we have a presence. Stay updated with state-specific employment laws and requirements.

Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely filing of state tax requirements related to payroll and benefits.

Employee Benefits Administration

Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee welfare initiatives. Educate employees on available benefits and assist with any inquiries related to benefits enrollment. Will serve as the project leader for open enrollment.

HR Reporting

Generate HR reports and metrics to provide insights to management and support strategic decision-making. Participate in delivering New Hire Orientation program. Provide other human resources and payroll support as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

o Bachelors' degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or relevant field from an accredited college or university.

o A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a HR Business Partner w/ (exempt & nonexempt workforce).

o A minimum of five (5) years of multi-state payroll processing and benefit administration experience.

o Advanced knowledge of Paylocity Suite systems.

o Experience managing benefits administration.

o Expert knowledge of federal and state labor and payroll & benefit laws and regulations.

o Demonstrated ability to analyze payroll data, financial data, and activity reports to guide strategic decision-making.

o Strong knowledge of various software applications especially Microsoft Excel i.e., Pivot Table, V-Lookups, filters, etc.

o Strong analytical, attention to details, communication, and problem-solving skills.

o Ability to multitask, prioritize and work well under pressure to meet goals and deadlines.

o Experience working independently while utilizing excellent judgement.

o Ability to safeguard confidential and sensitive information.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

o Must be able to pass a very strict background AND credit check.

o Flexibility to work varying hours during peak project periods.

o May require lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds.
