The Work You'll Do:
The Compliance Services Team lead is responsible for delivering tax compliance services to large and complex clients, and monitoring Compliance Services Associates (CSA) & Compliance Service Representatives (CSR) participation in training and day-to-day tasks. The Team Lead will oversee task management and quality control related to CSA's clients.
More specifically, you will:
- Dedicated lead on assigned accounts; client assignments will be 70% of Compliance Services Representatives peers that are in a non-team lead role.
- Communicate clear instructions to team members.
- The monitoring of CSA and CSR day-to-day tasks will account for 30% the Team Lead's workload.
- Determine completion timelines and monitor progress to keep CSA and SCR tasks on track and on schedule
- Manage the flow of day-to-day tasks and questions
- Create and distribute reports to direct manager on processing tasks
- Serve as technical team lead to train new CSA's & CSR as assigned by Supervisor or Manager. Direct support will not exceed 4 CSA and/or CSRs .
- Provide quality control support in lieu of direct manager.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Deliver client services utilizing Sovos' Tax Information Reporting proprietary software
- Ensure compliance with applicable taxing authorities (IRS, State and Local Governments) and client-specified procedures by adhering to internal policies and procedures
- Identify, prioritize, and resolve client issues; coordinate appropriate internal departments to provide timely response and solutions
- Provide assistance to CSA and/or CSRs in building domain expertise and resolving client issues
- Maintain goals and key measures to ensure progress and alignment with desired business outcomes for clients
- Identify process improvement and/or standardization opportunities; offers suggestions to build internal efficiencies and reduce risk and lead internal process improvement projects
- Foster continuous improvement efforts; offer ideas and feedback to generate new and innovative ideas for ongoing Company improvements and enhancements
- Develop re-usable documentation and training material; leads training sessions
- Work with clients and federal, state, or local jurisdictions to investigate complex issues and negotiate solutions
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a client support / services capacity
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Sovos' Tax Information Reporting proprietary software
- Excellent time management, decision making, and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check or drug test upon hire
