Job Details Job Location Silver Spring Office - Silver Spring, MD Position Type Full Time Job Description Summary Thrive Behavioral Health is looking for a Full-Time Administrative Assistant (Front Desk) to work in the Millersville office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Checking in and scheduling clients for therapy and psychiatry appointments in an electronic scheduler (currently many clients are attending virtual sessions) Checking insurance authorizations Making reminder calls Filing Problem solving Communicating with various staff to rearrange schedules when need arises Answering phones Responding to requests for medical records and other duties as assigned Sending letters to clients Stocking supplies/maintaining inventory in the office Schedule may be up to 3 evenings until 7 or 7:30 pm to support the Prescribing Team and clients. At least 6 months of experience in a medical or mental health office/setting is strongly preferred. This position requires someone who enjoys working in a team environment, is organized, and who possesses strong computer skills. Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply. MINIMUM JOB REQUIRMENTS Education, Training, and Experience Required: High school diploma, or GED equivalent or two years work experience. Preferred, Experienced as an Administrative Assistant, preferably in the field of behavioral health. Preferred, Bachelors degree in social work, counseling or psychology from an accredited university or related field: BSW or MSW preferred (Significant experience in aging could replace the educational requirement). Prefer CPR/First Aid Certification. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: The essential functions of this job include the following physical and intellectual demands: Frequently sit, stand, and or walk Frequently hearing, seeing and speaking Regularly typing Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with potential for stressful situations Comprehends and performs job duties at a reasonable pace while using attention to detail Concentrates, formulates plans, and makes decisions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Due to the nature of the industry, working in the evenings, approximately 7:30-8:00 pm, may be expected Position is in-person.
