Overview

The Sr Account Manager sales professional is passionate about improving the lives of patients through precision medicine. They will be a part of a high performing team increasing market share of Myriad's portfolio. Through product education, account management, onboarding, developing C-suite relationships, negotiating contracts, and working with internal stakeholders, the Sr Account Manager will build the Myriad Genetics brand and grow business with large regional and national strategic and influential customers in their region.

Responsibility
  1. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with national commercial insurance companies and others as determined by company.
  2. Develop and execute payer management strategies and formulate new initiatives to manage the growing demands of the marketplace.
  3. Manage existing contracts to optimize reimbursement, access, policy, and processes.
  4. Network with multiple departments within insurance companies to maximize relationships, contract terms and growth opportunities.
  5. Interact with Myriad senior staff to identify and execute strategies to increase company revenue through managed care activities.
  6. Work closely with Myriad's sales, customer service, medical policy specialist, billing and medical services teams to identify contracting and process improvement opportunities consistent with company objectives.
  7. Employ strong project management skills by prioritizing and leading multiple tasks concurrently.
  8. Maximize relationships with key stakeholders and insurance programs to ensure appropriate coverage and reimbursement for company services.
  9. Develop and execute account strategies and formulate new, mutually beneficial partnerships with MSO's, health systems and large practices to address the evolving demands of the marketplace.
  10. Gain a detailed operational knowledge of regional account customers and be adept at understanding the needs of those customers and translating them into the right solutions.
  11. Understand strategic goals of company and drive business that will impact regional and business unit goals.
  12. Assess levels of risk and develop contingencies for account plan failures.
  13. Identify, develop, sell-in, and pull-through commercial propositions that enhance customer and Myriad key performance indicators.
  14. Negotiate new contracts and manage existing contracts to optimize and secure Myriad's position in the region.
  15. Work closely with Myriad's sales, customer service, medical policy specialist, billing, and medical services teams to identify contracting and process improvement opportunities consistent with company objectives.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  2. Minimum 8 years of proven success in healthcare related sales, contracting, or comparable experience, with a minimum of 4 years of experience as an account manager.
  3. Strong knowledge of healthcare industry and validated success working with commercial insurers.
  4. Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Advanced knowledge of healthcare/hospital and patient-care industry and validated success working with large systems and selling into C-suite.
  6. Strong project management skills by prioritizing and leading multiple tasks concurrently.
  7. Ability to tailor communication and understand different needs of decision makers.
  8. Working knowledge and application of HIPAA laws, privacy, and ethics surrounding patient privacy and information.
  9. Demonstrated values and ethics that support Myriad's mission, goals, and professional code of conduct.
  10. Ability to use discretion and professionalism as it relates to handling patient and physician information and documentation.
  11. Valid driver's license and driving record that meets safe and satisfactory criteria per Myriad's motor vehicle driving record policy.
  12. Approximately 25-30% travel is required.
  13. Strategic account management, previous managed care contracting, and in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry is strongly preferred.
  14. 7 years of proven sales success in biotech or related industry; hospital/diagnostic sales preferred.

Physical Requirements

Lifting Requirements - sedentary to light work or exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, and observing. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions. OSHA category III - normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue and as part of the employment, will not be called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
